New Orleans Funksters Brotherhood of Groove are coming to (your town here) to throw down their super funk dance party.  The Brotherhood of Groove’s high-energy funky-jazz-jam-fusion has made them part of the regular music scene in New Orleans and generated popular acclaim throughout the country.  The band was nominated with Galactic and Papa Grows Funk for “Best Funk Band in New Orleans” by Gambit Weekly magazine and the Big Easy Awards Foundation.  Offbeat Magazine honored the band with their award for “2002 Best Emerging Funk/R&B/Soul Band in New Orleans”.  Gambit Weekly recognized the BOG’s Pocket Full of Funk album among the “Top 10 Louisiana Releases of 2002”. While the band continues to maintain its status as a strong club draw at such New Orleans venues as The Maple Leaf Bar, House of Blues, and Tipitina’s, their ability to attract healthy crowds while touring nationally is turning heads within the industry.  Performing around 100 shows a year throughout the U.S., the BOG is packing clubs and getting audiences out-of-their-seats and onto-their-feet with incredible high-energy grooves.  Most who come out to a show end up as loyal fans, eager for a return engagement.

Brotherhood founder Brandon Tarricone (Jambase.com Top 10 Guitarists of 2001) brings another group of talented musicians to our city.  The phenomenal saxophonist Geoff Vidal holds down the horn section on Alto, Tenor, and Flute; Drummer John Massing plays the funkiest drums to hit this region; and Stewart McKinsey on 8 string fretted and fretless bass keeps grooves deep.  Often joining the BOG are saxophonists Sam Kininger from Soulive or Jeff Watkins from the James Brown band.  The BOG’s new album “BOG Style” boasts stellar performances by all of these guys plus friends Marco Benevento (keys, the Duo), Steve Bernstein (trumpet, Sex Mob), Henley Douglas Jr (sax, the Boston Horns), Brian Jordan (guitar, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe), Uganda Roberts (percussion, Dr. John), Ivan Neville (vocals and organ, Neville Brothers) and others.  In the past, the BOG has been joined on stage by some amazing guest musicians, such as Dave Grippo (Giant Country Horns/Phish, etc.), Brian Haas (keys, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey), Eric Traub (sax, Dr. John), Jason Mingeldorf (sax, Papa Grows Funk), Michael Ray (trumpet, Sun Ra, Kool and the Gang, Phish)—just to name a few.  These guys rock hard, are always bringing out great musicians, and are always putting on a tight, musical show which means it should be a serious party night, so don’t miss it!!
